I am an English language teacher.  Learning to speak English fluently takes lots of practice.  If you'd like to practice English, I believe you'll find me to be a patient and accommodating teacher.  We shall proceed at a pace that you are comfortable with.  I will prod and challenge you.  But will not force you beyond what you feel comfortable doing.

Instant Messaging (IM) is great.  It's OK by me if we just use Skype's chat capability at first.  (Some chat with me for months and that's OK by me.)  But at some point,  we must go beyond chatting and begin speaking to one another so as to practice conversing in English.   This is what Skype was designed to do.  So I encourage my wards to use Skype's voice call feature to full advantage.   Using the voice function for calls makes it all the easier to learn to speak English.

At some point, we should begin using Skype's call function.  This is so that you can begin to listen to me speak in English.   I shall do a  chat/speak.   Which means that I shall chat (type my responses via the chat board) AND speak my responses to you at the same time.  This will enable you to read (via Skype's chat function) what I have just said out-loud.  Hearing me speak in English is a necessary first step in learning how to speak in English yourself.   You cannot avoid this step.  The more English speakers you are able to listen to, the more quickly your ear will get accustomed to the sounds of English.  The more quickly you will be able to converse in English.

As my student, you can choose to respond to me by chat alone.  That is, until such time that you feel comfortable saying out-loud what you just wrote on the chat board for me to read.

It is fascinating and awesome to see when and how students finally "find" their voice.  Again a system of gentle prodding and encouragement is used at all times.   We cannot force trees to blossom before their time.   But with sufficient care and attention, blossom they will.   Blossom they should.

Teaching is all worth my while.  The psychic rewards are priceless.   I do hope that all my students feel the same about the time we spend together.

It's of interest to me to learn how to handle English language learners of different nationalities.  I don't charge yet.  I only require that you be decent and polite.  I am especially interested in teaching other Asians.

I am happily married and  am not about to be convinced otherwise.  So if you're looking for that kind of stuff, disappointment is certain.

I have a soft spot for OFWs.   Saludo ako sa inyo.
